Snow day

Well unlike the title of this post thankfully we havent had a snow day yet, thankfully but blimey the wind and rain of late I really dont like and could do without as my "real" job is working in housing repairs sector and it hasnt been much fun of late I can tell you.

So I thought I would post a picture of a fun card I made recently and havent got round to showing you yet.

This uses the Snow day image stamped with white onto crumb cake, my 2 year old nephew giggled a lot when he saw it.

Another card I made for swaps for convention was

again using Santa s list and the designer paper made another easy card

Oh Christmas tree!

I have made this card using the mosaic madness stamp set and mosaic punch, this is such a quick simple card to make and you can glitz he tree up as much as you wish!

The colour used here is old olive, but again you can mix up the colour greens such as gumball green and it looks just as good

European Stampin` Up! Convention 2013 swaps

Sorry this post is late, its been very busy round here as Robs mum has been in and out of hospital, where she ended up again when I was away, but hopefully is on the mend now

Well I have had a fab time at Stampin` Up! European Convention 2013 and I am a little sad its all over.I met lots of great people, saw lots of new products shared lots of ideas and got inspired by all of the other demos great swaps.

I am going to share with you today one of my swaps I made using Santa`s List, I had to make 100 swaps so as you will see later in the week I changed it slightly and made a different version as I got bored of mass - creating!

I have since changed it slightly by using different embossing folders for making my own personal cards

It was my nephews 2nd birthday last week and he is Peppa pig mad, made worse by the fact he is called George and Peppas little brother is called George, he always says me Georgie pig, so I had to make him a Peppa card!

Sunrise candle card

Recently it was my sister’s birthday and I had already paid for her to go to Burghley Horse Trials in the Summer and wanted her to have a “nice card” to go with the small gift I had got her to open on the day.

 

I had seen the sunburst/sunrise cards everywhere on the net and have been raring to try making one myself. So I decided I would and also incorporate it into a candle box to house some lovely smelling candles I had for her.

 

I embossed the pieces of card using the hexagon, fancy fan, woodgrain and beautifully baroque embossing folder.

 

The sentiment is from the label love punched out using the artisan label punch.

 

I was quite pleased for a first attempt.

Why not try a masculine card? - Walk in the wild

 

It was my Brother in laws birthday recently and he fancies himself as a country gent and indulges in the love of country pursuits. I have known since the launch of the new catalogue what stamp set I was going to use and it just had to be the walk in the wild set with the pheasant image.

I embossed the card stock with the woodgrain embossing folder and cut out using the die from the apothecary set a hole which I then layered over the top of a piece of very vanilla cardstock with the pheasant stamped in crumb cake on.

I then used a piece of the burlap ribbon again which suits this card perfectly, the only thing I would have done differently was to do it earlier so my pressed clay buttons would have dried in time, still there is always next time!

I had a very hard card to make today as the husband of one of the ladies down our stables has passed away following a battle with cancer, he leaves behind young children.

They have decided to have a blue and white theme to his funeral as he was a Chelsea fan, it really makes you count your blessings hearing sad news like this

I decided to use the Serene Silhouettes stamped on cordinating card with ink in Midnight muse, Island Indigo and Pool Party and have used a simple thinking of you sentiment, im sorry that the sentiment set from Curly cute is no longer available and I wouldnt usually use something that has retired however I didnt have another suitable sentiment, so I hope you will forgive me.

Now although Wishing you is primarily a Christmas stamp it also lends itself very well to making birthday cards with the present stack and below are some cards I made at team training using two colours Coastal cabana from the new in color collection 2013-15 and Marina mist. the edges of each layer have been inked using the new Silver metallic encore pad and I have used the chevron embossing folder and a piece of  the winter frost designer series paper stack.

Tag a Bag

Another project made at team training was this fab Tag a Bag Gift Bag simply decorated with some chevron Ribbon and a tag from the Chalk Talk Stamp Set.

Inside it is filled with some lovely cards featuring a new stamp set, but you will have to come back after 29th august to see them (I know I`m  mean) or you could join my team and be able to see these products now

Washi tape

Recently I attended team training, its always on a Sunday afternoon and its such great fun. No matter how many or few turn up its always a great chance to catch up,find out the latest news and try out some fun techniques and projects.

One of the products we played with was the washi tape,its fairly new to Stampin` Up! but it is so easy to use and so many ways.

On this little card we just stuck the strips on and cut around the edge of the square (saved the scraps for later) and punched a butterfly out of the middle (again saved for later) mounted and voila! a quick and easy card.

Then using the scraps another card, so easy!

I made this card using the label love set which co-ordinates with the artisan label punch making my job so much easier!

The colours I used were wonderful wisteria and pool party to cut out lots of butterflies from the beautiful wings embosslits and then stuck them in a circle shape onto a piece of crumb cake, onto a very vanilla piece.

I have used the best of flowers set to make this card and use the "thumping" technique to colour the flower.

today I wanted to share another card from my go to stamp set Elements of style, so quick and easy and just perfect for my managers birthday card, lucky it is quickas I was making at 6.30am before work lol.

Today I have a quick card to show you using the stamp set Oh hello from the summer catalogue (item 130733)it is such an easy stamp set to use and co ordiantes with a lot our other products making it even more vesatile.

I have used one of the doilies to frame it and thats it, a very quick and easy card.

Reflection technique

Today I am going to show you a card using the reflection technique, ###i have been wanting to do one of these for ages and thought it would be too much of a faff but it was so easy so I will share with you how to do it.

• Stamp the image onto your card stock
• Reink the stamp and stamp on to a card cello bag
• Turn the bag over and line it up with the original stamped image
• Then press on the back of the cello bag all over the image carefully and this will then end up as a reflection on your card - EASY

Pretty in pink - Love

Today I have a swap to show you from our team training, I love this little card I think the colours are great and also love the embossed detail.

The stamp set used is You are loved and is stamped in pretty in pink ink and the card stock used Basic Grey, Whisper White and Regal Rose.

Today I have a simple favour box to show you, using the Petite Purse bigz L die, these are so quick to make and are ideal for wedding favours,party gifts as they can be filled with chocolates and other treats.

Eiffel Tower

This card uses the stamp set artistic etchings both on the background and the main image.The background paper is cherry cobbler,very vanilla and cake crumb are also used.The other colour that is used to accentuate the card is more mustard.

The edges have been distressed and the top corner rolled, what do you think?

A forgotten card

Today I am sharing with you a card made a while ago that somehow had missed being posted to my blog.

The colours used are Marina Mist and Wild wasabi and the background panel is made using stamps from artistic etchings.The scallop trim border punch has been used along the edge of the panel.

Elements of style swaps

These are my swaps I made for Peterborough I stamped Elements of style in each of the in colours - Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, Midnight Muse, Gumball Green and Summer Starfruit on to very vanilla card stock and then mounted them on to matching card stock.

I also cut some butterflies out from matching card and stuck on, easy but effective!

Craft Club coming soon!!

I shall soon be starting up a craft club in the Henlow area on a Saturday.

It will be an informal club where you can bring along your own projects whatever they may be to complete, have a chat with like minded crafty people.

I will also be doing classes either before the club or after where you can enjoy some lovely projects 

We will also be doing a swap where you will bring along a small item such as a card front to swap with others to give you ideas and new techniques to try.

I am just trying to find a suitable venue and then I will post more details but if you like the sound of this and would like some more info, know of a good room to hire or have any more suggestions please let me know  so I can gauge the interest.
